Marrowforums is a discussion forum for patients with bone marrow failure diseases such as aplastic anemia (AA), myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), and for the people who care about them: their family members and the friends and caregivers who make up their extended family and support system. Professionals who work with these diseases are also welcome.
Using the site's forums, members trade stories, exchange information and suggestions about day-to-day issues, and give and receive support from others facing the same diesases and dealing with the same issues. The discussions are organized into forums and threads, with each thread covering a specific topic. This makes it easy to find information, ask questions, and read what others have posted.
Marrowforums is provided free, for the benefit of patients, and does not accept any commercial advertising. You are welcome to read the discussions and you may post your own questions and comments after free registration. Members may also read the AA-MDS-TALK Archive, a searchable archive of the AA-MDS-TALK listserv.
Meet the Administrators
Neil Cuadra, Ruth Cuadra, and Vince Wessling
Marrowforums was created by Neil Cuadra, Ruth Cuadra, and Vince Wessling in 2006. Neil and Ruth continue to maintain, administer, and develop the site.
Neil Cuadra is a computer professional, caregiver for his wife Ruth Cuadra, and volunteer for the Aplastic Anemia & Myelodysplastic Syndromes International Foundation (AA&MDSIF).
Ruth Cuadra was co-moderator of the AA-MDS-TALK listserv, an AA&MDSIF board member, and continues as a volunteer for the AA&MDSIF and organizer for March for Marrow fundraising walks. After treatment for both aplastic anemia and MDS, Ruth underwent a bone marrow transplant and has successfully recovered. For a history of her treatment, see Ruth Cuadra's Personal Profile.
Vince Wessling was an AA&MDSIF board member, volunteer, and leader of its New England Region chapter. He founded and co-moderated the AA-MDS-TALK listserv while helping his wife Louise though a successful recovery from aplastic anemia. Vince helped with the launch of Marrowforums but is not involved in day-to-day site operations.
